I usually do that, I looked for and followed several tutorials for installing these softwares, yet no single one tutorial explained the problems that occured to me. Nowadays everything works as it should and I'm using Vista + IIS7 + PHP + MYSQL. Yet... I still believe it is far much easier to work with Apache + MySQL + PHP... but I do love Vista so far... hence I'll stick to it. P.D. - It's so great that I left a link to the php + IIS7 bug, so yeah, I still say kill anyone working for Microsoft. I haven't had a single problem with php, mysql, asp.net, ms sql, and any php extensions thus far. Maybe you should do some reading and learning before thinking it's Microsoft's fault.
